JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE ROLE OF DOMAIN SPECIALIST - STEEL
Must Do & Must Have's:
The Domain Specialist will be responsible for driving the following work streams:
a. Solution and Innovation Guidance in the Steel Sector:
i. Review the solutions that OUR CLIENT is building in the Carbon Management space, particularly from decarbonization perspectives.
ii. Must possess hands-on knowledge of Steel Manufacturing processes, including blast furnaces, electric arc furnaces (EAF), direct reduced iron (DRI) systems, and other advanced steelmaking technologies, with a focus on decarbonization and performance improvement.
iii. Deep understanding of waste heat recovery systems, alternative energy sources, and process optimization strategies for emissions reduction and efficiency.
iv. Knowledge of industry guidelines, such as GCCA principles, GHG Protocols, ISO 14064 standards, and other global standards like GRI, CDP, and SBTi.
v. Provide concrete inputs on unique and innovative functionalities that can be incorporated into OUR CLIENT's flagship product, tailored for the steel industry.
vi. Identify market demands and evolving needs within the steel sector.
vii. Provide presales support for business acquisition, including customer-facing engagements, presentations, and travel to customer locations in India and abroad as required.
viii. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects OUR CLIENT executes during the engagement period.
b. Lead Sourcing and Deal Closure:
i. Leverage professional networks and industry connections to identify qualified leads and revenue opportunities within the Steel industry.
ii. Conduct competition analysis and provide insights into market leaders, trends, and benchmarks that can inform strategic decisions.
c. Go-To-Market Enablement
i. Collaborate with vertical sales and Customer Success teams to support lead generation efforts.
ii. Assist sales teams in creating effective presales pitches and value propositions around Carbon Management solutions for the Steel sector.
Nice to Have's (but not mandatory):
- Deep understanding of Minerals & Chemical sectors.
- Knowledge of Hydrogen Production Processes and their application in steelmaking (e.g., green hydrogen in DRI processes).
- Expertise in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) processes and their integration into steel manufacturing.
- Knowledge of applying AI/ML technologies for process optimization, emissions monitoring, and sustainability initiatives in the steel sector.
