Solutions Architect - BI

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Detailed Business and solution Analysis of BI solutions and interfaces to support the team as necessary

- Support BI technical and Business Analysts in the development of BI solutions

- Assist with hands-on training of business Users to help develop their capability and encourage them to promote use of BI tools

- Maintain high level of understanding of end to end solution of BI projects

- Draw existing / legacy projects into BI capability wherever appropriate

- Identify and promote BI capability as part of project solution

- Interface with Business sponsors and others to keep them appraised of BI capability and data opportunities in order to identify opportunities

- Lead Presentations / Demonstration of existing capability to the business highlighting opportunities for other business benefits and extending the capability

- Work with BI Business Analyst / Data Analysts to ensure common understanding of usage of data across Business systems, Business Meaning, Cross System references and System interfaces.

- Work with BI Business Analysts / Data Analysts to understand data retention, versioning of data etc.

- Put in place processes / procedures to ensure that information is shared and is readily available to the team and Business Users who require such access

- Stay abreast of BI technologies and recommend products and solutions that BI should investigate to deliver value to Business

- Work with DataStage / Netezza Design Authority to ensure efficient end to end solutions

- Ownership of evolving the BI strategy in conjunction with Information Management Enterprise Architect

- Assist in design of Data Warehouse structures

REQUIRED PROFILE:

Mandatory -

- Min 9 years experience of relevant experience with 6 – 8 years in Analysis and Design

- Data Warehouse Design

- Experience in IBM Information Server

- Experience in NETEZZA or similar Enterprise Warehouse delivery

- Good Knowledge of a SQL and Relational Database technology

Desirable -

- Experience in DataStage ETL tool

- Experience of Business Objects

- Business Objects Universe Design

- Telecommunications Industry knowledge

- Experience of Agile development processes/methodologies
