The Item Authority team at Amazon.com is looking for a stellar experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the team creating the future for catalog management.
We are currently looking for an experienced manager who will be responsible for the planning, hiring, execution and success of the project. You must be innovative, resourceful, flexible and self-directed. Gaining the respect of your team, your peers, and your managers is critical. You will be coordinating the efforts of your team and their Technical Program Manager with the efforts of the product owners in the United States so great communication skills and practices will be essential.
As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of these services. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
- 12 - 16 Years of experience. Any Engineering Manager / Development Manager / Technical Manager from any product company will fit for this role
Technical:
- Very strong in Design (High and low level), Technical deep dive and development areas (should be from C++, java background - NO BI/ELT side of experience)
Basic Qualifications:
- Should BE/Btech - ME / Mtech - IIM's or equivalent
- Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
- Have experience in building and running distributed systems for online services at scale
- 12+ years of work experience in software development and 3+ years as a development manager
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in machine learning design practices and implementation
- Experience in defining and executing professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
- Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated experience engaging and influencing peers and executives.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work with business, legal, engineering, design, and other stakeholders to deliver products/services.
