Job Description :
1. Increase gross margins. Work with the Manufacturing team to figure out ways to reduce labour costs, operational costs, etc. Work with the procurement team to ensure that purchase costs are as low as possible. Work with the Product team to suggest changes in material and/or packaging to reduce costs. Work with the Sales Team on the pricing strategy in order to boost profits.
2. Adopt best manufacturing practices in the factory to keep costs down and quality control high. Manage the automation and capital investment plans. Monitor manufacturing capacity and plan for expansion, perhaps in foreign territories. Take high level decisions on outsourcing versus in-house manufacturing.
3. Make sure that the supply chain is robust. Closely monitor prices and availability of key raw materials. Foster relationships with key vendors, and continuously work on reducing costs, increasing credit periods and bettering quality.
4. Work with the Product Team to develop new product lines which require new manufacturing and sourcing capabilities. Accurately estimate costs and arrive at a pricing strategy for new products. Advise sales on pricing strategies for customized orders.
5. Work with Sales and Marketing to improve pricing, discounting and marketing strategies based on rigorous data analysis.
6. Manage contracts together with legal consultants.
7. Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets. Ensure that they are followed during lean as well as busy times.
8. Incorporating a culture of data collection and taking data driven decisions. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
9. Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required. Fostering a culture of responsibility and teamwork.
10. Bringing predictability and uniformity into all operations. Removing the need for chaotic last-minute decision making.
11. Produce written reports and make presentations. Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
Requirements :
1. Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Engineering from a premium institute. An additional management degree would be a bonus.
2. 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in a well known consumer brand.
3. Possess working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and other best manufacturing practices.
4. Strong operational experience with the ability to establish and measure KPI's
5. Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Good data analysis capabilities and financial acumen. Good knowledge of ERP systems.
