Head - Mobility - Product Development

- As a member of the Product Engineering team, champion mobile & API product development within the business, keeping abreast of developments in mobile technology and advances in usability. This will include identifying, evaluating and executing strategic business opportunities that support the overall SmartConnect Group growth objectives.

- Responsible and accountable for app product development including strategy, product details and execution within time & budget.

- Ownership of entire App portfolio; lead app product development across verticals and ensure that teams are working towards a common strategy. Deliver SmartConnect and third party partnership apps into the appropriate app stores successfully.

- Lead the strategic growth of API programme. Grow the business to be a self-sustaining, P&L driven team through business development, product management, and technology delivery in conjunction with stakeholders in Innovation, BizDev and GTM teams.

- Work closely with third-party partners and suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing those relationships as well as maintaining ongoing relationships with key partners like Apple and Google.

- Guide the wider corporate mobile strategy, innovation and mobile-specific business opportunities.

- Work closely with the Operations team to run products effectively on a day-2-day basis i.e. have tracking, reporting, security and operational tools integrated and working.

- Create a platform for API + Apps that enable key strategic partners (internal and external) to have the lowest Time-2-Market for product launches and enable innovation teams to iterate rapidly.

Essential Skills :

- Comfortable in creating and executing a strategic vision for mobile and APIs

- Will have led teams to deliver significant online and mobile projects in the past and have a credible track record of delivering Enterprise-grade apps

- Comprehensive understanding of the mobile ecosystem (products, stores, platforms)

- Ability to independently drive strategic growth for key areas of business

- Technical understanding of mobile technologies (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, HTML5 etc) and its languages and tools

- Will be comfortable presenting and reporting at board level

- Will have a record of developing skills within the team

- Experience in Agile (tools like Jira etc)

- Well developed relationship management skills and able to operate effectively managing a team

- Able to work across multi-functional process
