Brief job description
- Build the Skechers India Apparel Souring Business as an independent product vertical of the Company which will serve as a new growth avenue.
- Oversee and Own India Apparel's P&L responsibilities, including raw material sourcing, product development, factory sourcing, reviewing all submits & samples for accuracy & execution, costing, WIP management, QA/Testing, shipping, and complete product execution from start to finish.
- Lead Product development and monitor manufacturing from inception through to completion by empanelling best quality and cost-effective service providers. Finalise the terms of all contracts, licenses, insurance and liability agreements for each source being used.
- Closely work with the Global quality team to secure the standards and quality of production processes and finished goods. Ensure compliance to agreed standards.
- Build and maintain close relationships with factories. Assess factory capabilities against business expectations.
- Implementing global quality and production systems to ensure products as per required brand standards.
- Working closely with design team & vendors for product development in line with the brand's positioning.
- Ensure deadlines for development, sampling and bulk process are achieved within required timeframes.
- Identifying and developing new sourcing opportunities to achieve price effectiveness and quality.
- Develop a high performing team (internal and external) capable of growing India business, including wholesale accounts.
- Lead the team in driving continuous improvement of merchandising systems and processes
- Build key relationships between stakeholders to create a calendar that drives speed to market initiatives and reduces weeks of supply. Collaborate with cross functional partners in order to meet margin goals and costing metrics. Build strategic relationships for mutual business benefits.
