Job Description:
Developing and Implementing Compliance Models:
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance models necessary to operate within acceptable standards.
Ownership and Management of Compliance Requirements:
- Take ownership of compliance requirements and ensure strict adherence to established standards.
Liaison with Stakeholders and Senior Management:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and senior management to ensure proper implementation of established compliance policies.
Review of Business Policies:
- Review business policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with other departments, such as risk management or internal audit, to escalate compliance issues for investigation.
Conducting Reviews and Identifying Gaps:
- Conduct regular reviews to identify gaps in compliance processes within and outside the department.
- Ensure accountability of staff for addressing identified gaps.
Adherence to Timelines:
- Ensure adherence to timelines for various compliance activities assigned by regulators, the Board, or senior management.
Review of Policies, Products, and Processes:
- Review policies, products, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory laws.
Assessment of Compliance Risks:
- Conduct assessments to identify areas of potential compliance risks and implement preventive/corrective strategies to address them.
Reporting to Senior Management:
- Provide regular reports to senior management to keep them updated on the progress of compliance operations.
Organization of Compliance Programs:
- Organize compliance programs to educate staff on both existing and recent compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's/master's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Law, or Finance.
- Previous experience in compliance management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and senior management.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and address compliance risks.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
