Job Description:
Drives growth and profitability within the business:
- Formulates long and short term objectives, budget and operating plans, based on past performance and market opportunities and trends
- Identifies and capitalises on new growth opportunities either in terms of markets or product applications, alliances with vendors/customers to meet customer expectations
- Directs operations to meet cost and profitability targets and other financial criteria reflecting company performance
- Monitors and analyses key operating indices relative to established objectives and identifies corrective actions when necessary
Developing and implementing sound internal business processes:
- Directs the development and installation of procedures and controls to support business strategy and objectives
- Ensures that policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted/administered by subordinates
- Ensures that all activities are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws
Creates an environment that facilitates attraction and retention of top talent:
- Work closely with the Corporate HR team to develop the HR strategy aligned to the Group and Business strategy
- Implement and institutionalise HR systems and processes for employee development, performance orientation, rewards and recognition and a healthy work-life balance
Develops and leverages external relationships for the benefit of the businesses:
- Serves as the company's representative with major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups
- Establishes long-term relationships to enhance company's image and ensure sound services and working relationships
- Maintaining harmonious industrial relations and promoting a positive, motivating and healthy working environment within the plant.
- Ensuring the organisation structure is aligned and suitably staffed.
- Directs the activities of the Commercial function to support the meeting of the company objectives
- Designs and implements systems and processes to streamline the operations of the function related to Purchase, Stores, Warehousing and Outbound Logistics
- Designs and implements new and improved ways to meet customer requirements
- Analysing and interpreting financial data for forecasting that affects business planning;
- Evaluating current and proposed financial plans and policies and recommending changes to increase profitability
