1. Job summary:

To provide independent and objective business valuation in disputes and arbitration for a range of private and public companies in various industries like Real estate, Infrastructure, Power and steel industries in India and outside India. The candidate should be able to identify critical value, risk drivers and use local insights and their experience to deliver accurate, reliable and prompt valuations in large disputes and arbitration cases.

2. Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have to work on assignments involving real estate developments/investments across residential, commercial, hospitality and industrial sectors, Oil and Gas sector, Power and Steel sector which may include estimation of cash flows, building discounted cash flow models, analyses of comparable projects through market research, conducting site visits and cost analyses. The candidate should be well versed with regression tools like 'Monte Carlo'.

Responsibilities include -

- Handle valuation and/or business modeling engagements

- Conduct equity research, industry research, management interviews and site visits; analyze information obtained from various channels and prepare valuation reports.

- Prepare proposals and present valuation reports to clients and Litigators

- Review and analyze valuation reports issued by other firms in order to assist Litigators on projects associated with fair value measurements.

- Develop and analyze complex financial models and perform financial analyses (historical performance review, financial forecast and free cash flow analysis).

- Appraise Litigators on asset values using the income approach, market approach or asset-based approach in disputes and litigation matters.

- Understanding relevant regulations

- Analysing assumptions based on market parameters and past performance

- Analyse Business plans prepared in MS Excel and identify material issues, which might impact the outputs of the model.

- Ability to prepare a detailed financial model from scratch with strict deadlines

- Report writing

- Managing reviews with the Managers and Partners

- Begin to identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicates to manager

- Network internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm in order to gain understanding of issues that may impact issues with his clients

- Ability in preparing proposals and other business development efforts

3. Skills and attributes for success

- High team orientation

- Analytical skills

- Strong Financial modeling skills

- Should be very conversant with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

- A significant amount of initiative

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a role with Big 4s or valuation service providing companies in sectors like Real estate/Infrastructure/construction, Oil and Gas, Power and Steel industries.

To qualify for the role you must have :

- CA or MBA (preferably from a premier institute) with a good academic background

- 5-6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the relevant sectors mentioned above.
