Job Summary : This is a full-time position responsible for providing legal support services for breadth of legal & compliance issues relating to ever growing Companys business in India. Responsibility to ensure that appropriate and effective legal strategies are in place to facilitate business goals. Anticipate and guard against legal risks. Develop and recommend legal solutions for accomplishment of strategic business objectives.

Position Relationship: Close interaction with Legal Team, Cross-Functional teams, Business Heads, Functional Heads and Management Team.
Job Profile Overview :
- Knowledge in Laws of India: Legal principles, jurisprudence and practices in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company Law, Employment and Business Laws and procedures.
- In-House Legal Expertise vs. Commercial Understanding: Ability to demonstrate the trait of business enabler and make commercially savvy decisions and connect with business teams. Deftness to help make strategic decisions based on commercial and legal analysis.
- Managing Legal Risks: Ability to understand the pressure points, strategy and objectives of the business and effectively communicate the risks and legal issues involved in any decision to management. Thus enable management to make informed strategic choices with an acceptable risk profile.
- Demonstrating Value: Should be able to add specific value by encouraging a greater understanding of financial and non-financial risk, support the business teams and management in preventing exposure to the company to unnecessary legal risk. Identify, manage and mitigate risk and strengthen business support.
- Litigation Management: Conversant with the functioning and procedures of Courts in India/ Quasi Judicial Authorities w.r.t. litigations, Arbitration etc. Developing and coordinating litigation strategies and coordinating centrally all litigation across the country. Effectively liaise with external lawyers for management of legal cases and legal costs, opinions. Manage and oversee all company litigation matters and potential litigations.
- Debt Recoveries: Deftness in negotiations, out-of-court settlements, recovery of dues and assets.
- Estate/Land Management: Expertise in Legal aspects of investment & disinvestment of immovable properties, title due diligence, drafting Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds, Leave & License, Deeds of Assignment/transfer, liaison with Port Land Authorities and Industrial Estate Authorities, title deeds/mutation management.
- Public Affairs: Advocacy assistance in building and maintaining a positive image for the company. Establishing and maintaining relationships and engagementwith Industry, Govt. and Policy makers, Trade Associations, and to work closely with the Public Affairs teams of SHV. Liaise with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives by administering the communications and public relations initiatives as determined by the larger organizational strategic planning process.
- Legal Drafting: Write, review and analyze various legal pleadings, affidavits, plaints, written-statements, petitions, writs, replies, rejoinders, powers-of attorney, draft and file responses to legal notices, review opinions and other legal documents, identify potential legal issues and support suitable legal documentation etc.
- Statutory & Regulatory compliance support and updates: To keep up to date with the legislative advances / changes which may have a business impact and accordingly render timely advice to the Corporate and Regions. Skill in interpreting applicable laws, regulatory policies & procedures, case laws; legal search. Understand and implement corporate guidelines w.r.t. legal policy and statutory compliance.
- Management of Intellectual Property Rights searches, registrations and infringement actions.

Qualification & Experience :
- Degree in Law- B.L /LLB or LLM.
- 7 to 8 years of experience in relevant areas as an in-house legal resource from a reputed organization or should have worked in a good law firm handling major corporate clients or Professional qualification as a practiced lawyer in Indian jurisdiction.
