Funding and Investors of the company :
- Shotang has raised $5 million in Series A funding from venture capital Exfinity Venture Partners and Unitus Impact Livelihoods Fund.
- Raised nearly 500k USD from Bitchemy Ventures in the seed round.
Leadership Team :
- Shotang was co-founded by Anish Basu Roy and Anterpreet Singh. Both of them were colleagues at Nokia and have a cumulative experience of nearly 15 years in various sales, distribution and channel development roles with leading brands like Coca Cola, P&G and Nokia.
- They have engineering degrees and a PGDM from SCMHRD and IIM A respectively.

- The Indian retail market is highly fragmented and has over 14 million retailers that make up over 95% of the retail industry.
- Given the huge scope, Shotang has in a short period of time been able to build a strong network of distributors in South India but mainly focusing on 1 category.
- Given this background, Shotang is looking to ramp up its team across verticals and geographies which will be responsible for building the business for the company.
Responsibilities :
- Managing multiple employee databases and HRIS.
- Partner with business leaders for talent management and maintain a highly motivated and engaged workforce
- Managing exit process, exit interviews until full and final settlement.
- Managing employee relations. Attending to employee grievances and concerns
- Managing legal matters in keeping with labour laws & state compliances.
- Providing advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Collating and managing payroll inputs as per the payroll calendar and ensuring data accuracy.
Requirements :
- Proficiency with HRIS systems
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to build strong and effective business relationships
- Ability to work with people in different offices with limited face-to-face exposure
- Demonstrated collaborative business partnership skills; ability to thrive in a dynamic, quickly-evolving environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong team building and influencing skills
Qualifications :
- 5+ years progressive HR experience in high-growth environment
- Master's degree in related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
- Expertise in HR best practices and familiarity with Indian labour laws and HR compliance
- Flexible, enjoys variety, and can roll with changing priorities but not lose focus on top priorities
- Ability to mentor employee engagement teams to help them plan for impactful events
