Job Description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for understanding the client's requirements and providing an optimal solution by proposing the best possible approach for different end-users across domains and industries.

The ID should be able to:

Analyze content

Create Scope of Work documents outlining content design details

Write and review storyboards

Guide the Media and Technical Implementation teams during the development process

Responsibilities & Duties

As Instructional Designer Lead, one is required to

Develop instructionally sound design document or content outline in terms of structure, flow, content coverage, and complexity level

Identify appropriate instructional design strategies for courses

Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to get inputs for the technical content, to validate the design strategies of the course, and to obtain sign-offs for the deliverables at different stages of product development

Develop storyboards for WBTs and ILTs as per Design document

Perform quality assurance reviews of e-learning courseware

Collaborate with graphic designers and media programmers to visualize content

Writing creative and effective instructional documents and audio scripts

Understanding the concept of how and why people learn

Connecting with an audience

Thinking from the learners (audiences) point of view

Reviewing the work of team-members

Interacting with clients and SMEs

Brainstorming for creative treatments and innovative instructional strategies

Visualizing instructional graphics, the user interface, and interactivities

Reviewing the finished product

Using eLearning development tools and software

Scripting storyboards as per a detailed course outline (DCO) created by a Lead

Ensuring that storyboards contain all necessary instructions/guidance on treatment of content, interactivity and images to be used in the course
