Reporting to: Sr. Vice President - Business Development
Location: Gurgaon
Industry: Candidate should be from generic formulation Pharma industry only. Non-Pharma candidates shall not be considered.
Qualification: M/Pharm /MBA
Experience: 8-12 years of experience in Portfolio Management & Licensing
Role:
SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB
To be responsible for portfolio management (including In- licensing and M&A) for the Markets. To support VP - Strategy in developing short and long term strategy for the Markets.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Track actual Revenue against projected from the Geographies
- On time deal closure for business alliances ( In-licensing, Hospital Channels, etc)
- Business Alliance Management
1. On time delivery for project requirements
2. On time issue resolution for the partners
- Accurate business analysis of new products and segments
- Evaluate competitive landscape in the market on an ongoing basis and be responsible for existing and new portfolio.
- Number of products evaluated for licensing and development for the Markets
- Projected profitability
- On time DIF ( Development Initiation Form).
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
MARKET INTELLIGENCE
- To continuously study and scan the Innovators products and performance, competitors- products and profitability, disease patterns in ophthalmic and other areas, emerging patters etc to suggest addition of products in the portfolio.
- To drive team to analyse the performance of the existing products by market, therapeutic areas, market complaints, competitor's performance and brainstorm ideas to improve performance.
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
- To study IMS and other related market data sources for revenue by products, pricing, volume, number or competitors etc for business cases.
- To direct the team to analyze products on its development cost and returns using financial models such a NPV in order to build a business case along with inputs from Finance, IPR, PD and Regulatory.
- To coordinate efforts from various departments in achieving the project targets.
- To ensure risks are identified at various stages of project and highlighted to the higher authorities.
- To gather feedback from customers in the market and submit new ideas through IGF ( Idea Generation Form).
- To ensure on time DIF is issued to the R&D team after rigorous due diligence.
LICENSING
- To evaluate products for in-licensing in various segments by studying medical trends, current product portfolio and competitors activities.
- To negotiate terms & conditions and legal contract closure for deals in the markets.
COMMERCIALIZATION & GEOGRAPHIC EXPANSION
- To support VP - BD & Strategy in developing sort and long term strategies for these markets
- To study the market and devise additional commercialization opportunities through various channels like additional business alliance, direct entry etc.
- To scout for partners, shortlist evaluate and conduct due diligence for partner finalization.
- To negotiate terms & conditions and legal contract closure for deals.
- To scout for partners to develop and commercialize products requiring clinical studies, litigation or filing spend, etc.
M&A
- To evaluate opportunities to acquire products and/or companies.
- To build business case for specific M&A opportunities, conduct due-diligence, negotiate terms & conditions and legal contract closure for deals.
- To support VP - BD & Strategy in executing the deals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: MBA Experience: 5 - 8 + years experience in Business Development, Sales with relevant experience in Pharmaceuticals.
