Sentieo (www.sentieo.com) is a next-generation equity research platform. Built by former hedge fund analysts, our platform overlays cutting edge search, collaboration and visualization tools on financial data sets to allow investors to supercharge their research workflow. After an 18 month closed beta that ended this fall, our product is currently being used at top hedge funds, investment banks and mutual funds. We are a well-funded, fast growing financial data startup which is quickly carving out its own niche in a $100Bn+ global market. What you'll do:

You will be one of the founding members of the business operations team at Sentieo. Here is a good description of the bizops function within a startup.

You'll work with each functional area to solve problems and ensure the business is firing on all cylinders. Build a team of strategically-minded business analysts who will be aligned to different functional teams (Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, etc.) and serve as thought partners to the business to solve problems and hold the teams accountable to key metrics.

While this is intended to be a managerial role, we are a startup and everyone is expected to get there hands dirty working with data, customers, and the product to ensure the success of the enterprise. This is an entrepreneurial role, where you will be expected to find problems yourself and figure out how to solve them. In the process, you will learn a lot about how to effectively operate a technology product-oriented business.

This role reports to the Vice President of Business Operations and will work closely with the co-founder and the leadership team.

Example projects include: Sizing the overall market and determining key inputs to our financial model, defining key success metrics for product usage, establishing sales forecasts using historical data and bottoms up account planning, managing the OKR planning process across the business

Your experience and skills:

Undergraduate degree from top tier university, BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Math a plus.

MBA from top tier program strongly preferred (not necessary if you can convince us why you don't need it)

3-6 years of general work experience. Experience at a strategy consulting firm, investment bank, and/or operating experience in enterprise software, SaaS, or consumer internet highly preferred.

Strong analytical skills (Excel skills required, SQL preferable)

Great writing and communication skills (English)
