Criteria for Vendor Manager role :
- Premier B-School- graduates (IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, Bajaj, IBS) with 4+ years consulting experience in top 3 consulting companies (Mckinsey, BCG, Bain)
- Premier B school- graduates (IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, Bajaj, IBS) with 4+ years, brand management, combination of brand management and sales in FMCG. (Unilever, P&G, Marico, ITC)
- Premier B school- graduates (IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, Bajaj, IBS) with 4+ yearsBrand / BD / Sales roles in premier technology companies.
- Premier B Schools- graduates (IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, Baja, IBS) with 4+ yearseCommerce category management experience

The ideal candidate has a track record of analytical skills, ability to recommend and execute a vision, and build programs and features from the ground up. You must be able to influence across multiple company organizations, be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker and have a history of delivering results. You will establish new relationships and strengthen existing relationships with publishers. You will be customer focused, entrepreneurial, a proven self-starter, and have the demonstrated ability to invent.
Within this Senior Vendor Manager role, you will :
- Be an expert vendor/publisher relationship manager and communicator, who works closely with regional language publishers to ensure customers can find any book on the site at great prices and have an excellent experience reading it
- You will be a strong negotiator, able to continually work with publishers to improve our customer offering through amongst other things increased selection, new programs, better costs.
- Understand the performance of the publishers and books you work with
- Work closely with leaders across the Kindle organization locally and globally in ensuring that we continue to develop new services and product offerings
Qualifications :
Must have qualifications :
- Professional experience in eCommerce, publishing, purchasing, key account management or consulting
- Exceptional ability to negotiate with publishers and influence leaders both externally and within client
- Willingness to engage with publisher and trade in local languages as required to drive results.
- Strong communication skills and exceptional assertive abilities on all levels, while maintaining your ability to be vocally self-critical and seek feedback
- Business focused thinking, an ability to focus on key issues and a strong hands-on, results driven mentality
- Special affinity and demonstrated skill with numbers, analyses and reports
- Excellent knowledge in Excel, and database work, with experience in SQL a plus
- Excellent marketing skills, a feel for customer needs, as well as a high degree of innovative prowess
- A great deal of personal initiative, creativity, decisiveness and team spirit
Preferred Qualifications :
- Candidates with MBA with analytical sales roles requiring account / distributor management (data crunching and analytics combined with sale and account management) as relevant as direct vendor management experience.
- Professional experience in e-commerce, publishing, purchasing, key account management or consulting would be a plus.
- Category leader experience preferred with passion to move into VM role managing publishers.
- pBooks industry experience or eBooks industry experience will be useful
