Role Description :
The Senior Technology Specialist will drive Design and Development of aircraft engine valves, actuators, Air Turbine Starters, heat exchangers/pre-coolers and Fuel Systems in HTS MCOE under
- Mechanical Components Gold Enterprise. The candidate could work with M&PM PAC leaders and Engineering Directors to enhance HTS involvement in NPI, VE and Advance Tech Programs. The candidate needs to front end the discussions with end customer to fully understand the requirements and provide design solutions to the delight of customers.
- Interacting with customers and developing the functional and design requirements
- Preliminary design/sizing of components based on the design standards, requirements and business objectives by closed form solutions/ FEM/ CFD based on the requirements
- Perform detailed design and analysis to meet the design and functional requirements
- Review of 3-D models and release of 2D manufacturing drawings
- Adherence to design, manufacturing (including heat treatment and surface treatments) and quality processes.
- Preparation of tests procedures and participation/ conducting qualification tests
- Identification of vendors, following-up with them for design, development, testing and acceptance of parts
- Improve the technical capability of team to build new and innovative products with cost and schedule as drivers
- Innovate on technology insertions in new products and understanding the market needs
- Influences Technology Roadmaps, Technology Insertion, Pre-Product Visualization (PPV) / Proof of Concept (POC), IP Landscaping and Licensing, CORE engineering and IP strategies to continuously improves Honeywell competitive advantage
- Deals effectively with the dynamics of a distributive work environment and creates collaborative work culture in line with the One-Honeywell approach
Educational Qualification and relevance experience:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with 14 years of relevant experience or Masters degree in Design Engineering with 12 years of experience in design and development of aircraft engine valves, actuators, Air Turbine Starters, heat exchangers/pre-coolers and Fuel Systems
- Experience in design, analysis and certification of aircraft engine components
- Strong domain knowledge in aircraft engines and components
- Should have good problem solving and analytical skills
- Must be an innovative and integrative thinker, quick to visualize solutions and generate ideas
- Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and influence the technology decisions
- Ability to work with teams at multiple locations and fosters teamwork
