Senior - Taxation & Compliance
Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and international tax returns (if applicable) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage and maintain tax records and ensure proper accounting treatment of tax-related transactions.
- Stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations and their impact on the company's tax position.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues and develop solutions to minimize tax liabilities.
Tax Planning & Risk Management:
- Proactively identify and assess potential tax risks associated with business activities.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Collaborate with other departments (e. g. , finance, legal) to develop tax-efficient business structures and transactions.
- Recommend and implement strategies to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tax Accounting & Advisory:
- Provide guidance and support on tax matters to various departments within the company.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant tax accounting principles and their application.
- Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation (if applicable).
- Stay informed of industry best practices in tax accounting and compliance.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Effectively communicate complex tax concepts and information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax authorities.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations on tax-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a senior tax role within a corporation, public accounting firm, or tax advisory service.
- Proven track record of preparing and filing complex tax returns, including federal, state, and international (if applicable).
- Strong understanding of US tax laws and regulations (GAAP knowledge a plus).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with tax software (e. g. , CCH Axcess Tax, Intuit ProSeries) a plus.
