We are looking for a seasoned Sales leader who is passionate about building businesses from scratch and is experienced in developing and executing acquisition and engagement strategy for the new business.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative climate. The role will require expertise both in internal team project management, working with leaders internally as well as in our partner organization to scale up the program. To succeed in this role, the candidate should be adept at analysing customer expectation, external market trends and competition strategy, building frameworks, cascade best practices in people management to the last mile team through the managers, take bold bets and have a high level of judgment for decision making.
Responsibilities:
The right person will:
- Build and manage a culturally aligned and high growth sales org for a new business
- Work closely with diverse set of internal and external stakeholders and senior leaders to set-up business and drive business priorities
- Work with stakeholders to draft a sales strategy, define synergies in sales processes, org structures, uber goals and cascading goals
- Provide thought leadership on the implementation of a World Class distribution model, operating procedures, sales, service and partner network
- Build, develop and motivate a large sales organization including third party manpower and third-party distribution channel partners to deliver goals.
- Develop mechanisms for applying learnings and experiences to improve sales processes
- Work with the product team, external vendors and technology providers to build sales tools.
- Negotiate smart contracts with the manpower agencies and third-party partners
- Coaching, mentoring and handholding leaders with the objective of people growth, motivation and engagement
Experience
Relevant:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in distribution industry and overall 10+ years of sales experience
- Experience of setting up new business and selling nascent (embryonic/start-up) products/services into new markets
- Experience building out and managing physical distribution networks and growing the business through these channels by executing on-ground activations, trade and channel marketing initiatives.
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business by the numbers. Must be metrics-driven.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.
- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working with SME Ecosystem is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of the retail and wholesale landscape in India with prior interactions with sellers and distributors is desirable.
- Experience in defining new processes is desirable.
