Responsibilities:
- Understand the project & prepare project specific safety plan in accordance with the statutory compliances.
- Successful implementation of HSE plan
- Implement & monitor systems like work permit, site audits, checklists etc.
- Complaint enough to conduct training at various stages
- Should be capable of making risk assessment and develop statistics and reports
- Supports the Top Management in the HSE policy & guidelines issue
- Supports the Top Management in the Organisation rules and responsibilities, definition, for what concerns safety aspects
- Ensures, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE systems
- Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety & Environment system procedures & provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation & Company directives
- Provides for motivation & familiarization of all company personnel respecting the importance of complying with company system procedures and all safety equipment provided
- Conducts safety audits for both internal & external
- Takes part in incident/accident investigation
- Carries out analysis of incident/accident investigation statistics, identifying trends & suggesting improvement plans
- Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects
- Liaises between clients on safety related issues
- Safeties related engineering input into new projects & modification programs
- Participates to HAZOP meetings prior to procurement & installation activities
- Preparation of Health & Safety documentation for new contractors
- Provides safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities
Perform the role of a people manager for subordinates
Manage & support recruitment, set KRA's for direct reports, conduct performance appraisal
Oversee staff deployment & drive motivates levels of the team, monitor staff welfare & facilitate complaint resolution, manage efficiency levels & drive timely delivery of all operational targets
Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Occupational Safety & Health or Engineering from a recognized institute
Experience
Experience as HSE Management System relevant position minimum 10 years
A current relevant Health & Safety qualification (eq: NEBOSH Diploma/IOSH/CSP Certificate or equivalent)
Fully conversant with International HSE standards, codes & local applicable regulations including:
a) BOCW
b) The explosive Act & Rules
c) Electricity Act & Rules
d) Environment regulation Act & Rules
e) Motor vehicle rules
Experience in OHSAS in 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004
