Direction Setting :
- Leads & drives translation of procurement objectives into actions and executable plans
- Understands & interprets the overall business direction & objectives and develops & aligns plans for the category to enable their achievement.
- Responsibility for an end to end Logistics procurement, contracting for the operations and evaluation of the performance of logistics partners. Works in partnership with the Supply chain Logistics team at corporate as well as in operations.
Business Planning :
- Develops & communicates (to team members) short & long term plans that are comprehensive, realistic & effective in order to support all Procurement activities.
- Constructs & uses budgets to manage & monitor spends for the category and ensures that adjustment processes are in place for over/underachievement.
Procurement Practices :
- Applies defined processes and practices to optimize the utilization of resources for the category in order to successfully achieve business objectives.
- Ensures thorough analysis of the market, study trends in logistics and shipping in order to logically substantiate the evaluation of all strategies.
- Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers in order to align understanding & commitment with customer expectations.
- Negotiates at a tactical & strategic level to develop complex business unit and major company purchasing contracts appropriate to the category of expenditure.
- Take up initiatives for cost minimization, reduction /savings in total logistics costs.
