- Should have managed a service desk transition project
Purpose of job:
- Project Manager ensures that all aspects of service desk in-house project are taken into account when a service/application is moved into SSC.
- Context and environment: (e.g. dept description, region description, organogram)
- Will be part of SSC, interacting with various functions within Business, Delivery and project team.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
- Manage service desk project plan completely
- Work closely with service desk management transitioning service desk in SSC & South Africa.
- Set up project plan and assignment of service resources on Microsoft Project.
- Co-ordinate the management of milestones, actions, issues, risks and decisions of the project and transition activities
- Oversee the construction of new facility for the service desk.
- Oversee the stabilisation period, quality measures and ensure projects are closed only when the defined standards are met.
- Ensure proactive reporting to project team and senior management is carried out with high accuracy.
- Manage communications with respect to project and transition related activities at all levels.
- To interface with 3rd party suppliers, involving agreement, planning, timelines and quality of deliverables.
- Adhere to relevant escalation processes to escalate resource issues, delayed project phases, missed deadlines and other planning issues
- Manage interdependencies.
Information Security :
- Ensure that their workforce are aware of the information security policies and comply with them
- Ensures that the team complies to ISO 27001 and IGA related requirements
- Send account opening requests effectively
- Disable accounts immediately for leavers and Absconders /on long leaves
- Document and monitor / review access levels of his/her team
- Provide security awareness and education to team
- Manage Records to ensure compliance to Freedom of information act
- Ensure incidents of their respective functions are closed within SLAs
