Senior Product Manager - Travel Tech
Key Responsibilities:
- Will co- own the Flight product performance and co-own the respective P&L with the product commercial team.
- Responsible for planning, development and help in market positioning of the product throughout its lifecycle. The role encompasses defining the product vision, gathering business requirements, developing the product roadmap and working closely with engineering team, product commercial team and other business stake holders to ensure delivery in line with the roadmap which helps meet the business needs and delighting the customers producing measurable results.
- Responsible for providing functional & technical solution working closely with technical lead & architect.
- Spearhead product innovation and deliver innovative products in a timely fashion and meeting budgets that consistently support Goomo's strategy and business model, meeting business needs and helping Goomo to differentiate in the market place.
- Participate in developing Go-to-market Strategy in collaboration with product commercial team other stake holders and help in flight market segment and product positioning.
- Participate in the budget and financial planning, plan and follow up to ensure the financial objectives are met.
- Work with the other product stake holders such as product commercial and marketing team, help in capturing and refining the various product requirements and converting the same to respective product specifications which the technology team can develop and deliver.
- Will be responsible for product implementation by driving the execution roadmap for the various Goomo product lines in collaboration with the product commercial team, design, engineering, analytics and testing team and other stake holders, tracking progress to ensure timely delivery while meeting budget & cost.
Skills Required :
- A very good knowledge of the travel domain knowledge with specialization in Flights product. Good understanding of GDS and LCC systems from a B2C perspective with indepth knowledge of Webservices/APIs.
- Should have proven track record of strategizing and evolving online travel products involving stakeholder management, creation of a prioritized product backlog and getting it executed in an agile environment.
- Proven experience of building products in an e-commerce environment meeting both user and business needs, solving complicated problems, and driving organizational changes to meet the goals.
- Should be very well aware of Agile practices. Candidate should be able to drill down the requirements to user stories level and run scrum for feature development or bug fixing.
- Should have hands on experience in defining key product metrics and associated measurements, track health of product with respect to meeting business targets, user engagement and other product performance metrics, external benchmarking with the competition and the market.
- Should possess a deep understanding of internet/web and mobile technology for meeting high transaction scale. Should appreciate the challenges in developing the best travel products which involves high levels of technology engineering and lot of dependency with third party systems.
- Proven experience in managing and facilitating the Product Lifecycle concept to completion. Should be able to carry out in-depth discussions with engineers and understand the implications and trade-offs of design and architecture decisions, and the ability to effectively work with customers and stake holders to capture business requirements for product lines
- Candidate must be excellent in written and verbal communication, and will be good at regularly interacting with senior levels in articulating the product vision and should be capable to carry along the rest of organization in the implementation of the same. Will have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at speed and with agility and outcomes.
- Self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision, Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority, Ability to organize and lead multiple threads of activity concurrently, Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and able to work with minimal supervision
Education & Experience :
- An engineering degree with an MBA from one of the premier institutes
- 8 to 12 years of experience where early career experience is in software engineering /development
- 4-6 years of core product engineering experience in OTA space
- Hands-on experience on JIRA, MS-Office, Analytics, CRM
