Roles and responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders, engineering, marketing and operations teams to define long term and short term goals of the product.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that the product is released on time, with quality.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure that high quality designs are rolled out that deliver an ideal user experience
- Be the champion of your product, you are responsible for creating mindshare for your product across both internal and external stakeholders.
- Be the voice of the users, understand what they need and educate concerned stakeholders.
- Define the key metrics for the product, measure them and own them.
- Define and execute the growth charter for community - you will be responsible for defining a product roadmap to drive healthy user acquisition and retention.
- Work closely with the marketing team and execute user acquisition campaigns
- Lead all product related discussions for your product component with various teams in the company.
What skills you should have:
- 6+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably in building developer tools and products.
- Ability to define metrics that drive product adoption. You should be comfortable with metrics like MAUs, retention cohorts, activation flow etc.
- Ability to understand the needs of the users, translate them into features and work with the engineering team to understand the implementation details.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) - you will have to inspire a lot as people will look up to you for product vision.
- Ability to negotiate in tough circumstances - at the end of the day a product manager's job is to be an excellent negotiator.
- A passion to track metrics and evaluate everything quantitatively
- Prior hands on experience of writing code and software development.
