Senior Manager - US Accounting Process

 - Maintaining reports for account reconciliations, financial analysis and reporting

- Preparing quarterly account reconciliations and analysis for accounts

- Monitoring and reconciling interfaces from administration systems into the sub-ledger

- Monitoring and reconciling sub-ledger interfaces in the ERP general ledger

- Supporting and resolving accounting and administration issues

- Monitoring accounts to ensure that all cash receipts are processed, policy exhibits allocated, and outstanding balances verified within defined key performance metrics

- Preparing monthly activity and quarterly journal entries and external reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy

- For each financial reporting period, review and analyze variances between actual cash received and system generated accruals, making any necessary adjustments; also analyze financial data and compare to expected financial projections, concentrating on major variances and treaty profitability

- Responsible for the preliminary review of all revenue accruals by account

- Analyzing and providing explanations for financial results under US GAAP and US Statutory bases, including investigation of unusual variances and obtaining appropriate analytical support

- Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements

- Assumption of additional projected-related responsibilities as well as ad-hoc requests from internal clients

- An eagerness to identify new ways to streamline and automate processes to improve efficiency and quality of deliverables

Additional tasks and responsibilities will include the following:

- Ensuring successful/timely completion of monthly/quarterly close duties by self

- Support preparation of certain regulatory deliverables

- Performing critical self-review of daily/monthly work product

- Focus on teamwork - taking on additional duties during peak times

- Assisting in the completion of ad-hoc projects/queries

- Participation in long-term team projects, including period reporting to both local and US

Qualification, Experience & Skill Sets:

1. CA/CWA/ MBA Finance with 5-10 years of Experience in US Accounting process & familiar with US business practices and culture

2. Experienced with ERP accounting systems, reporting and reconciliation requirements

3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP

4. Strong technical PC skills, including MS Word, Excel (Pivot tables and macros), Powerpoint, Access and Business Objects

5. Self-starter, good written/verbal communication skills

6. Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to communicate well when working with colleagues/clients in other countries.

8. Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment

9. Strong desire to learn and develop, receptive to coaching (both positive and critical)

10. Strong relationship building skill set
