Senior Manager - Sustainability Engineer - Construction Firm

We are looking for a Leader who can be a part of the Global Sustainability team while helping to establish a high performing team at our Pune office to support the global needs for all of our brands related to Sustainability Engineering, Design for Environment (DfE) or Positive by Design (PbD), LCI, LCA, EPD, ESG reporting and Carbon Management project support & reporting including Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3).

Work with the global Sustainability Leaders, Engineering leaders, Operations Leaders, Corporate Governance teams, 3rd party consultants while providing leadership and own the deliverables.

The key stakeholders would include the Directors, VP's and Presidents from various regions and brand and would require to interact, present and manage expectations at all levels of the organization.

Role and Responsibility :

- Entrepreneurship and Team Leadership

- Bring the sense of entrepreneurship to understand the business needs and build and articulate vision and scope of what is required as we scale the team

- Develop and delivery process and system for systematic collection of data, refinement, ensure quality and accuracy of data at all times

- Build a strong Sustainability team to deliver the below

- DfE/PbD - Create, Improve, Educate and deploy the framework for Design for Environment (or Positive by Design) concepts into all New Products being developed

- Be the steward of presenting and creating buy-in to global engineering teams on DfE and PbD concepts

- LCI/LCA - Be the expert and guide the team to become the COE for all LCI / LCA model build, certification (manage audit and certifications while partnering with authorized 3rd party). Continually manage / maintain the models and applicability.

- EPD - Build capability and capacity to cater for generating the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and Product Transparency Documents

- ESG - Build capability and expertise in supporting the ESG reporting needs for the company. Partner with the global teams and also with 3rd party agencies to generate audit and publish the reports for the company

- Scope 1, 2 and 3 - Deliver the Data Management, Calculations and reporting.

- Create and publish Sustainability Index (SI Statements) for all New product Development (NPD) projects mandated globally

Be a hands-on leader on reporting, auditing:

- Own the entire process of developing and sustaining for generating reports as well

- Work with the organization leaders to define the requirements, create consensus

- Develop and delivery process and system for systematic collection of data, refinement, ensure quality and accuracy of data at all times

Insights and prescriptions:

- Draw conclusions and present clear recommendations based on research, analytics, and feedback

- Provide Insights and business recommendations and build a strong team that can replicate and scale for value addition in providing actionable business insights for all regions.

- Develop a team that can provide visualization and data analytics to drive the insights generation and measure metrics and impact from various programs

Continually Improve:

- Relentlessly focus on process improvement and documentation to ensure scalable procedures replace non-value-added work and driving shorter time to market execution.

Required Experience:

- 14+ Years of experience in Sustainability Engineering, LCI, LCA, ESG, EPD, Data Management and Reporting

- Setting up, scaling and managing a high performing team

Technical:

- Hands on expertise in LCI and LCA tools (e.g., and preferably SimaPro..)

- Ability to quickly learn complex concepts and digital tools that may span across analytics, project management, workflow and data processing automation.

Industry:

- Prior experience in product-oriented companies

- Business Orientation

- Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and translate them into insights and recommendations.

- Project and Time Management

- A strong follow through; proven track record of setting and achieving deadlines and forecasts.

- Project management experience, e.g. setting achievable timelines for initiatives, drafting project plans, managing milestone delivery, and communicating project details effectively (verbal and written).

- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks simultaneously.

- Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, cross-functional team capacity.

- Strong skills in the Microsoft suite of products.

Educational Qualification requirement:

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering

- MBA or Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering or related filed is desired
