The Sr. Manager of Retail Analytics is responsible for providing analysis, insights and recommendations that address the business needs of the sales team and other mass/mid-tier retail sales teams. Data will serve as the basis for all program and business performance analysis, whether via standard or custom reporting. Other duties include, but not limited to:
- Track POS data to inform retail sales teams on product performance
- Evaluate retail placement, timing, program/brand performance, and related promotions
- Provide recommendations to optimize retailer strategies and value proposition
- Prepare weekly and quarterly performance reports
- Show an understanding of market dynamics, competitive players in the marketplace, price points, etc.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights to key stakeholders regarding consumers, their behaviors and the competitive landscape
- Concisely summarize data to create compelling analyses and engaging presentations
- Work with Operations Team and/or vendors to check for data accuracy and quality
- Continually assist with optimizing the data management and reporting processes, implementing changes where applicable
Basic Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of analytical work experience; retail, merchandising, promotional planning, pricing, and/or data management preferred
- Experience interpreting data and presenting findings to senior thought leaders
- Experience managing client relationships
- Must be able to build relationships and work well with others to deliver results
- Must be a strong communicator and organized
- Professional proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven aptitude for working with large sets of quantitative data and extracting relevant points
- Must work well under pressure and be able to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work both as an individual contributor and team member
- Experience owning data structures and leading data management
- Data aggregation experience is needed
