Position Title: Senior Manager – Reporting, Policies & IFRS

Job Purpose:
- Reporting to Vice President - Group Controller, Senior Manager - Reporting, Policies & IFRS Support is responsible to ensure identification, approval and implementation of sound, effective and applicable policies and procedures across all group entities.
- He/She will be the key internal resource to identify appropriate accounting treatments and reporting requirements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards across the whole group.
- The role will be pivotal to the Group strategy of ensuring that relevant new technical accounting developments are assessed, documented, interpreted, communicated and understood so as to ensure that all business impacts can be analyzed in a timely manner so as to enable the establishment and execution of appropriate implementation plans as required.
- The candidate will be responsible to work with VP - Group Controller to document complete set of Policies & Procedures manuals and implement the same.
- He/She will develop studies and papers on appropriate accounting treatment(s) in light of requirements of the IFRS.
- He/She will also assist the Group Controller in implementation of an ERP System that is expected to roll out very soon.
- The candidate will be responsible for group financial reporting function wherein he will ensure that appropriate and effective controls are exercised in each of the group entities as far as financial reporting is concerned.
- The candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate reporting on entity as well as on consolidated level.

Key Accountabilities:
Description / Performance Indicators:
- Monitor, assess and interpret technical accounting developments with regard to potential impacts on Group accounting policies
- Summarize existing and newly implemented standards and document their impact on group accounting policies.
- Document and communicate preliminary impact assessment of new and emerging accounting standards and developments including disclosure impacts on published Financial Statements
- New and emerging standards analyzed including preliminary business impact assessments communicated effectively in a timely and appropriate manner
- Actively work on design and establishment, and support the execution of appropriate implementation plans for relevant new accounting standards
- Preparation and submission of structured and practical execution and implementation plans
- Prepare quarterly technical accounting bulletin for circulation to finance staff
- Informative, business relevant technical accounting bulletin prepared for circulation to finance staff on a quarterly basis
- Review, interpret and analyze complex commercial agreements as arising in the context of applicable accounting standards and Group Accounting Policies
- Complex commercial agreements analyzed, documented and communicated effectively in the context of existing and emerging applicable accounting standards
- Prepare Group Finance accounting position papers on technical accounting matters and review accounting position papers prepared by business units
- Group Accounting Policies updated concisely and clearly for new accounting standards with a focus on continuous improvement to existing policies and the identification of any gap areas.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of a center of excellence for technical accounting matters
- Technical accounting queries dealt with in a timely and accurate manner
- Lead key accounting projects (complex transactions, acquisitions, disposals, etc as required) from a technical accounting perspective
- Technical accounting position papers prepared in an effective and timely manner for audit sign off
- Work with VP- Group Controller to document, compile, and update policies and procedures manuals within Accounting & Finance functions.
- Documentation and regular updation of Policies & Procedures Manual, getting them reviewed by the VP Finance
- Conduct research on best practices and recommend the same in the context of Company’s business, culture and practices.
- Regularly contribute through recommendations and relevant studies.
- Liaise with auditors, consultants and other stake holders
- Discuss technical accounting position papers with the auditors and consultants and obtain their sign offs.
- Be an active member of the ERP System implementation team and work towards achieving this objective in the best possible manner.
- Work as active member of On-ground ERP implantation team.
- Ensure preparation and presentation of financial reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis for each group entity as well as on consolidated level for the whole group.
- Liaise with group companies to ensure required reports are prepared. Ensure accuracy and meaningfulness of such reports.
- Ensure timely preparation, review and submission of all internal and external reports.
- Any other tasks as required

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications: Qualified Accountant with big four experience
Minimum Experience: 8 Years
Job-Specific Skills:
- Very strong knowledge, interest and aptitude in complex IFRS technical accounting matters.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet time critical deadlines
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Understanding of accounting systems and exposure to ERP environment is highly desirable.

- The person has to be hands on and comfortable working on the above items by himself.
