Senior Manager - Quality Engineering - IT

Our client is a global leader in Intelligent Access systems and specialised in residential Garage Door Openers, Commercial Door Operators, Access Solutions, Gate Operators, Facility Access Controls, IoT, Smart Home, Connectivity & Controls.

Position Overview:

This role of Senior Manager - Quality Engineering will be based at the Engineering Centre at Pune and responsible for automated testing of hardware and mobile applications, Web applications, Middleware into the software engineering continuous integration pipeline and drive QE process automation.

The ideal candidates come with:

- Experience in Testing SaaS-based products using Agile/Scrum methodologies

- Strong experience with Automation testing; (Firmware testing/IoT testing will be a plus)

- Experience with tools including Selenium, TestRail, Playwrite and Load and Performance testing using Jmeter

- Experience in managing a team of 15-20 resources (including vendor resources)

- Excellent communication skills with exposure to dealing with international clients

Key Responsibilities:

- Define, drive adoption of, and document best practices and tools for automated testing, focusing particularly on the mobile application, web app testing and API testing and collaborating with app, web, and middleware software engineers and management

- Drive End-to-End testing in collaboration with functional test managers, Onsite test managers, business teams, and other departments

- Identify automation requirements in testing process, drive, discuss and support implementation in coordination with automation architects and automation team

- Define and implement test boundaries across various functional testing teams including lab testing services, middleware quality engineer, firmware test automation group

- Identify gaps, drive test solution optimization with increase coverage, without comprising the product quality

- Proactively determine areas of opportunity for improvement, as well as areas of possible risks; and conceptualize strategies to mitigate or prevent risks.

- Influence and educate key stakeholders about QA processes, QA values and principles.

- Track and report Key Performance Indicator to higher management and teams for visibility and analyses, maintain QA Health throughout the program

- Incorporate automated testing of hardware and mobile applications into the software engineering continuous integration pipeline

- Support the testing needs of teams that build the app, Commercial Web app by establishing effective cross-functional communication, ensuring that other functions are well informed on testing strategy and methods, and staffing teams appropriately when project needs change

- Provide expert leadership to a team of QA Managers, Architects and QA Leads, maintain trust and support aspirations and skill enhancements

- Continuously assess team members' strengths and weaknesses, provide actionable feedback and training opportunities that promote team members' engagement and career growth

- Collaborate with other managers on continuous improvement of team processes, test case quality, and coverage

- Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library

- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field

- 12+ years experience in automation testing development and providing test and quality support for commercial-grade systems

- 5+ years of management experience leading a direct team(s)of automation and manual test engineers

- Experience with Test automation platforms.

- Expertise in manual and automation test planning and execution; performance test lifecycle experience; experience with micro services and cloud-based architecture; and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and JIRA

- Experience with test management, QE Roadmap/QE Strategy and planning, forecast and estimations, automated test frameworks and architecture, web/mobile/API automation, continuous integration, DevOps; extensive experience in writing automated tests for API (REST and Soap), Database etc
