Main purpose of the role:
- The Product Manager leads product creation and is focused on the short and mid term product road map. Product Manager is also responsible for the integral business plans and life-cycle business of the existing products (updates. pricing).
- The Product Manager has to cooperate with the sales organizations to realize the targets, as set in the business plan of the products and to cooperate with R&D to get the right products at the right time for the right price. Next to that, the job will be responsible for the sales forecast to Operations, such that delivery will be on time with a minimum of stock.
Key Areas of Accountability:
- Responsible for planning process, define and realize a marketing policy for the product creation, such that the budgeted targets, as volume and profit (margins), can be realized with and through the defined sales channels.
- Support and guide the Product Creation Process by market research, the definition of commercial requirement specifications and product specifications.
- Set up and execute roadmaps for the introduction of new products or updates and the phasing-out of existing products in such a way that an optimal product portfolio is available on the market in time and with low costs of stock.
- Define the marketing communication plan and budget and make sure that the MarCom deliverables, like packaging, manuals and product information, is available in the required languages, in order to successfully introduce and promote products and compete with the competitors.
- Develop sales plans in cooperation with the sales channels and key accounts in order to maximize the support to the sales process and set prices, margins and product positioning and to define sales training and sales support.
- Contribute to the definition of the strategy and goals of the product creation unit, so that all business processes can be optimized and aligned to maximize the performance.
- Define and manage the marketing budget for, manage the marketing team and develop the members the marketing team, in order to keep a high professional contribution to goals of the product creation unit.
- Plan, build and maintain relations with key account or key users in order to stay connected to the developments and trends in the market.
Skills and Competencies:
- Superior analytical and influential skills, attention to detail, and exceptional creativity, with the ability to balance in a resource constrained environment.
- Knowledge of consumer profiling and modeling.
- Expert knowledge of online/offline marketing metrics and direct marketing channels.
- Solid track record of successfully understanding the needs of the client and developing relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work within a fact paced company with increasing needs.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, working with multiple people with competing priorities
- Understanding of market / channel dynamics and their interplay to ensure meeting business goals.
