Position Objective : The primary purpose of the role is to ensure global vendor selection and development, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation and price finalization. Cost Contract Management.
Principal Responsibility:
Develop the Sourcing Strategy & Plan:
- Design competent sourcing strategies for the market to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Lighting BU.
- Define the guidelines for supplier/vendor selection and ensure the quality guidelines defined by Company are adhered to.
- Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) incorporating customer needs, organizational goals, and market conditions.
- Develop and monitor the annual operating plan for BU material requirement , considering internal and external factors
- Develop, review & authorize annual sourcing forecasts & material procurement strategy
- Define the plan to monitor supplier performance and periodic supplier evaluation.
- Review and Monitor Sourcing Strategy & Plan:
- Monitor the identification and assessment of suppliers and selection of new / existing suppliers.
- Define supplier standards as per BU product requirements and communicate requirements to key suppliers
- Ensure maintenance of supplier master data and identification of preferred and secondary suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and periodic supplier evaluation and ranking
- Approve the renewal of C&F agents agreements, transport agreements with contracted carriers and development of service level agreements
- Monitor supply market analysis & ensure stock prices are monitored in the commodity market for critical raw material
- Review the calculation of the deviation between planned & actual - delivery time, quantity, quality and the conduct of root cause analysis
- Monitor follow-up for the critical items till they are delivered as per the delivery schedule.
- Cost Reduction:
- Identify cost reduction opportunities in materials sourcing across international geographies.
- Drive cost savings through effective negotiations with materials and logistics service providers.
- People Management:
- Supervise, manage & lead the team members towards achieving the department objective and periodically monitor their assigned job duties.
- Design training sessions for maintenance dept. staff as well as machine operators on better machine handling
- Ensure manpower planning at plant level for the department and ensure minimum or no delays due to absence of manpower
- Train and coach departmental employees on functional and technical competencies
- Devise an Individual Development Plan for each of the employees post the performance appraisal discussions.
