Role Objectives:

The objective of this role is to lead packaging development initiatives for Packaged Beverages and RTD beverages portfolio for the NPD pipeline and to drive the packaging agenda on innovation, cost, sustainability, packaging excellence and leveraging external partnerships

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible to drive packaging innovation objectives for Packaged Beverages and RTD business and continuously feed into the innovation funnel with initiatives driven from packaging development

- Responsible to drive the Digital Transformation agenda for the packaging team

- Work closely with Innovation Marketing and R&D team along with cross functional team to understand and develop a pipeline of prioritized packaging driven innovation opportunities for new and improved products

- Drive packaging sustainability initiatives for the business and work closely with internal teams to deliver packaging sustainability projects

- Drive cost innovation projects by identifying the opportunities and evaluation of alternate packaging materials, technology and processes while maintaining the product quality standards

- Drive the packaging capability enhancement through identification, partnership and management of external partners (e.g. Technology providers, Academia, Suppliers, and Agencies) against the right opportunities, to successful outcomes

- Manage and lead respective packaging development projects to achieve on-time and on-budget delivery for Tea, coffee, water and liquid beverages

- Provide technical inputs on selection of packaging materials, and equipment for new product brief, developing SOPs to validate new packaging materials through trials and setting testing protocol

- Set testing protocols and processes and parameters for qualifying packaging materials for all the innovation projects

- Ensuring alignment with internal functions operations, quality, procurement, marketing and international business on packaging related activities

- Manage, Coach and guide junior team members with technical and managerial support to achieve project delivery, managing timeline and personal development

- Ability to travel on need basis at short notice

- Be adept at stakeholder management, conflict management and agility

Desired Candidate:

Profile/Experience:

- Masters in Packaging from the Indian Institute of Packaging

- 12-14 years' experience in Packaging R&D, within FMCG (preferably Beverages & Water background), preferable with 3-4 years of exposure to global markets, implementing new packaging solutions, cost innovation programs and packaging sustainability programs

- Experience in leading small teams
