Senior Manager - Legal - LLB/LLM - Fintech Startup

- As the Senior Manager - Legal, you will be responsible for aligning the legal operations work to the needs of the business in the most efficient and effective way to support best-in-class operations strategy, execution and support across the company, while leveraging market insight in development of new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing the legal operations of the Digital SME Lending group

- Implementing a well-defined and standardized Compliance process

- Drafting, reviewing and solidifying senior debt and structured debt transactions

- Specifying internal governance policies and regularly monitoring compliance

- Advising the team on its statutory obligations while keeping in mind the interests of the company and interacting with internal stakeholders for processes

- Coordinating with external law firms, borrowers and internal teams

- Monitoring and ensuring compliance in Fund Raising process

- Ensuring legal conformity and minimizing probability of exposure

- Assisting the reporting manager (Founder) on various ongoing issues and providing relevant regulatory updates from time to time

- Building strong relationship across legal ecosystem to understand current state and making recommendations for improved operations

- Collaborating with management and key internal stakeholders to devise efficient defense strategies

- Managing Contract execution

- Ensuring Stamp Duty and secretarial compliance

- Monitoring and ensuring Legal action for defaulters

- Staying up to date on industry best practice and leading law department processes and influencing continuous improvement

Candidate Profile :

- LLB and LLM Degree preferred

- Demonstrable experience of 4-7 years in in BFSI sector as legal manager / similar role preferred

- Strong understanding of security related laws and processes, NBFC, banking regulations and Companies Act is a great plus

- Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills

- Ability to build relationships internally as well as externally

- Excellent communication, including strong presentation skills and executive presence

- Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative business environment

- Creative and critical thinker and problem solver who is not afraid to challenge status quo

- Flexible for 6 days a week working structure
