1. ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES -
1. To handle litigations filed by the company. All types of litigation in at S C, Delhi H C, Tribunals etc and other districts Courts of North India.
- To co-ordinate with various division and keep track of all pending litigations.
- To issue legal notice (show cause notice) on behalf of the company, on receiving details from concerned department.
- To collect required data / para wise comments on disputes from the concerned departments and prepare defence/ in-house reply.
- To seek help from outside advocates if need be, with approval from the Supervisor
- To initiate appropriate legal action, in case dispute is not resolved by legal notice through an Advocate.
- To provide necessary data / evidence to advocates in the matter.
- To co-ordinate with advocates and keep track of the matters.
2. To handle litigations filed against the company - All types of litigation in at S C, Delhi H C, Tribunals etc and other districts Courts of North India.
- To collect required data / parawaise comments on the dispute from the concerned departments and prepare defence/ in-house reply to legal notice / show cause / demand notice from parties / regulatory authorities.
- To engage Advocates, if required and co-ordinate with concerned departments for appearance / filing appropriate reply / written statement.
- To prepare evidence / defence with the help of advocates and co-ordinate with concerned departments and advocates.
- To keep track of the matter so as to ensure no adverse order is passed against the company.
- To co-ordinate with land department and advocates for verification of title of the land to be acquired.
3. To handle legal issues involved in land acquisition for Retail Outlet expansion - To ensure compliance of various title documents as advised in title clearance report of advocate.
- To finalise the Lease deed / indemnity bond and other documents to be executed with land owners
- To co-ordinate and ensure execution / registration of Lease Deed deed with land owners.
4. To co-ordinate with advocates / attend hearings and keep track of all litigations. - To prepare in-house defence, draft replies, notices, rejoinders and pleadings.
- To regularly co-ordinate and follow up with the advocates and attend courts when required.
- To co-ordinate with group legal and other departments to stay updated with the matters.
- To follow up with the advocates for feedback on court proceedings if not present for the hearing
5. Updating & MIS - Timely circulation of MIS and development on crucial issues
6. RO Audit - Completion of RO Audit as per plan
7. Advice - Advising the business on all issues relating to Law
