As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Learning and Development to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Learning and Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of training and development programs for our restaurant staff. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can develop innovative training initiatives to enhance employee performance, improve operational efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Program Development: Develop comprehensive training programs for all levels of restaurant staff, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and management positions. Design training materials, modules, and resources to support learning objectives and ensure alignment with company goals and values.

2. Onboarding and Orientation: Create engaging onboarding programs to welcome new hires and facilitate their integration into the company culture. Coordinate orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies, procedures, and job expectations.

3. Skills Training and Development: Identify training needs and gaps in employee skills and knowledge. Develop and deliver targeted training sessions to address these needs, covering areas such as customer service, food safety, compliance, leadership development, and technical skills.

4. Leadership Development: Implement leadership development programs to nurture and empower managers and supervisors at all levels. Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to develop leadership capabilities and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

5. Performance Management: Collaborate with HR and operational teams to establish performance management processes and systems. Provide guidance and support to managers in conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and creating individual development plans for employees.

6. Learning Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in learning and development. Evaluate and implement innovative learning technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance training delivery, engagement, and effectiveness.

7. Compliance and Certification: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to training and certification. Manage certification programs for food safety, alcohol service, and other relevant areas, ensuring all staff members maintain required credentials.

8. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Analyse training data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancements to training initiatives.

9. Vendor Management: Collaborate with external training vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts as needed to supplement internal training efforts. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets to ensure quality and cost-effective training solutions.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Hospitality Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.

- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful training programs that drive employee engagement, performance, and retention.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams at all levels.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and other training technologies.

- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to training, development, and employee relations.
