Objective:
To oversee statutory compliances, government liaison, and local community relations for manufacturing facilities in Gujarat & Maharashtra. The person would be responsible for ensuring that the operations are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, while also building positive relationships with government officials and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to our operations in Gujarat.
- Employee Relations, disciplinary, legal matters etc.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain and renew various factory licenses and permits.
- In coordination with internal stakeholders ensuring timely filing of all the returns required as per labour laws
- Liaison with government officials at the local, state, and national levels to build positive relationships and represent the organization's interests.
- Necessary Licences / Permits - Acquiring and renewals (for Land, machineries, processes, equipment etc.)
- Local Community Relations. Build and maintain positive relationships with the local community, including community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in industry associations and forums to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and regulations in the manufacturing sector.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on matters related to statutory compliances and government liaison.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize risks associated with non-compliance or negative community relations.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
Must haves:
- Having experience into both Plant and Corporate HR activities for IR and Compliance.
- LLB / PG Diploma in Labour Law
- 10-15 years of experience in statutory compliances, government liaison & Industrial Relations preferably in the chemical industry
- Thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to manufacturing operations in Gujarat & Maharashtra.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with government officials and the local community.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including senior management and department heads.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks related to statutory compliances and community relations.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited supervision
