Job Responsibility :
As a Senior Manager, you'll join a globally integrated team helping leading organizations to move goods and services around the world more effectively. You'll combine your technical skills and practical experience across industries and geographies to provide tailored advice to clients.
This will include identifying risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle. You'll advise clients on TAX treatment of new and complex transactions and help resolve classification or other disputes and issues with the authorities. Your proactive, pragmatic and integrated strategies will help our clients achieve their potential in today's global environment.
Client responsibilities :
- Be the central point of contact and liaise with your MENA stakeholders, Onshore Managers, local stakeholders and the team
- Monitor the quality of the indirect tax data and reports of your clients
- Review and approve indirect tax returns
- Follow the legislative changes and business changes in order to ensure that the systems and/or processes are regularly updated
- Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the VAT compliance processes
- Should be able to perform VAT compliance advisory and VAT audit support
- Strengthen the relationship with existing clients and broaden the scope of services
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with other sub-service lines and identify the areas for cross-selling opportunities
- Propose improvements to raise effectiveness and efficiency in the work processes
People responsibilities :
- Help people to develop through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring of all levels of staff
- Transfer technical and professional knowledge to others through formal and on-the-job training
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
- Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training VAT professionals
- Maintain an educational program to develop personal skills on an ongoing basis
- Understand, follow and communicate workplace policies and procedures to all levels of staff
- Organize the team structure and set up standard processes and define roles & responsibilities of individual team members
- Coach and motivate team members to achieve highest goals and personal development
- Provide the management inputs for the performance review of counselees
Qualification :
- A Qualified Chartered accountant or equivalent
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in European VAT and any other VAT compliance
- Basic understanding of other compliance activities such as statutory accounting and corporate tax compliance
- Fluent in English - written and spoken
- Dynamic, innovative & problem solver, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player with project management capabilities and good knowledge in IT and Excel skills
