Position Title: Senior Manager HSEQ
Base Location- Chennai
Position Summary:
- The Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE programs and policies.
- This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety, and minimizes environmental impact across the organization.
- The position leads a team of safety professionals and collaborates with various departments to achieve organizational safety and environmental goals.
Experience & Education: 15 Years. Or more in EHS field
Industry Experience:
- Understanding of Construction /Civil /Ground Engineering business & foundation
- Exprience of working on Abroad projects is MUST.
- Full time BE Mechanical Engineering.
- Full time Diploma/Bachelor/masters in industrial safety from AICTE/ State Technical Board approved institute.
- CLI/RLI/NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA certification is an added advantage.
- Qualified internal auditor for ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015
- Industry Experience: Understanding of Construction /Civil /Ground Engineering business & foundation engineering (Piing, Ground Improvement, Grouting, Stone Column) / customers' requirements/ new techniques
Job Location: Remote / Site -based Job and willing to travel extensively to project site locations.

Job Description:
HESQ Leadership:
- Lead the development and implementation of the HSEQ strategy, policies, and programs.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility across the organization.
- Provide leadership and direction to the HSEQ team, fostering professional development and high performance.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, environment, and quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess HSEQ risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Oversee incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver HSEQ training programs for employees at all levels.
- Ensure all staff are adequately trained in HSEQ policies and procedures.
Performance Monitoring:
- Develop and monitor HSEQ performance metrics and KPIs.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on HSEQ performance, issues, and initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to HSEQ.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the HSEQ performance of the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders on HSEQ matters.
- Communicate HSEQ performance and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Negotiates effectively with the stakeholders (Internal & External) on various project related issues and milestones. Manages all escalations and remains self-accountable unless the issues are resolved.
Change Management / Sustainability:
- Identifies, tracks and addresses changes; escalates changes when necessary.
- Ensures sustainability of environment during project execution and updating project on new environmental laws and ensuring compliance as required.
People Leadership:
- Manages large teams and delegates effectively.

Additional Responsibilities:
- To lead the development and implementation of required environmental, occupational health and safety (EHS) programs and procedures to protect the safety and health of employees, to comply with good environmental practices, and to maintain compliance with applicable local regulations.
- To drive Safety Initiatives in the project and ensure compliances to Company & Statutory safety requirements for the site and build a sustainable culture of Safety.
- Understanding of standards relating to EHS including ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018.
- Deploying methods and technologies for Risk Assessment and Control.
- Understanding of Legal and other requirements related to construction industry.
- Good Leadership and commitment to implement EHS Standard across the sites.
- Team player and excellent technical knowledge of construction activities.
- Quick learner and adoptive to different site conditions.
- Permanent risk reduction through innovative engineering control measures.
- Previous experience of working with Digital EHS Database Management and Reporting systems.
- Lead Auditor for ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 Standards
- Preparation of HIRA & Aspect, Impact and Significant Register.
- Handle training sessions on EHS related topics.
- Understanding of Legal and other statutory requirements
- Understanding of Fire technology, fire prevention methods and fire load calculations
- Preparation of Incident investigation reports, Lesson Learnt Reports and EHS Alerts.
- Experience on IMS Document Preparations as per contractual documents requirements of major National & International clients including Metro clients.
- Previous experience on EHS Sub-Contractor Management Systems.
- Working knowledge on Design Safety.
- Willing to travel across the sites and provide inputs to the Top Management based on findings.
- Developing innovative digital solutions
- Conducting Management Review meetings and handling presentations durinG various management review meetings.
- Need to be familiar with corporations Interaction skills (at least 3,4 yrs) with a global perspective, presentation abilities with leadership management.
