Senior Manager/Head Corporate communications
REQUIRED SKILLS :
1. A Bachelor's/PG degree in any discipline, preferably Arts, English Literature or Mass Communications from a recognized university.
2. 11 to 13 years of hands-on experience in internal communications, HR & recruitment communications, crisis communications, brand communications, CSR communications, event management, social media branding and communications, advertising, PR and media relations or a related field. Preferred industries include technology, ITes, global outsourcing or smiliar. Some advertising/agency environment experience will be a plus.
3. At least 5 years of hands-on experience with ideating, developing, writing and publishing different types of content for HR and Recruitment, CSR, and Diversity & Inclusion teams; need for excellent storytelling skills and a passion for creating high-quality content that contributes to the brand image of the organization.
4. Highest level of integrity, loyalty and dedication towards the organization and the team, with a desire to contribute to its success and growth, in alignment with the organizational priorities; high standards of ethics and compliance in line with the rules and regulations required to maintain confidentiality; celebrates diversity of skills, people, orientations, life-choices, and believes in being respectful, authentic and committed to interpersonal relationships with colleagues and peers.
5. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to write flawless content pieces including leadership communications, newsletters, editorials, blogs, press releases, event campaign content, employee engagement communications, internal BU content, and brand communications.
6. Hands-on contributor, leading by example, willing to work, train, motivate, mentor and lead team members, and support the communications team; willingness to do everything that can help the team to achieve exceptional individual and professional standards of execution, teamwork and collaboration.
7. Expert at strategic brainstorming and creative execution with intense interest in, and good knowledge of, social/digital branding and communications for HR Requirements and Employer Branding, CSR and Culture on social media channels, and their functionalities; experience working with designers and/or in an agency environment.
8. Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering accurate and brand-abiding communication across all media - analog, digital and social - in keeping with company's corporate brand guidelines; commitment to establish regular monitoring mechanisms for internal communications programs and campaigns.
9. Business acumen to plan, write, coordinate and publish a variety of complex and sensitive communication campaigns including crisis communications across APAC to achieve organizational priorities and uphold the brand image.
10. Demonstrate superior project management and budgeting skills, stakeholder management and a flair for measurement and consistent reporting on campaign performance by assets, defined metrics and recommendations for continuous improvement.
11. Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask, delegate, manage team responsibilities, and strategically prioritize simultaneous deadlines and delivery demands under high-pressure and dynamic work environments.
12. Proven ability to motivate and work effectively with diverse business teams, cross-functional global teams and external vendors; highly organized with ability to juggle multiple projects for various business units simultaneously, often with tight deadlines.
13. Experience working with all levels of employees - leadership, management, peers, team members, first-line managers, and the skill to maintain cross-functional relations with effortless ease; good interpersonal skills.
14. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent presentation and documentation creation skills. Interest in maintaining weekly and monthly reports, trackers and progress reports is necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Lead, manage and grow the Communications team in APAC with a focus on skill development, training, improving efficiency and accountability.
2. Work with leaders and team leads to develop and launch communication programs in a timely manner with emphasis on a balanced approach to planning, creativity and execution, in equal measure.
3. Plan, implement and oversee best in class communications and branding strategies - mainly for Employer Branding, HR, CSR and BUs, and provide strategic communications support for the leadership and the management teams.
4. Write, edit, publish all internal and leadership content, and content for awards and global listings (for brand building) on behalf
5. Identify emerging issues and opportunities facing the organization and design communication strategies to manage their impact and drive the messaging across all channels responsibly.
6. Own the voice of company in APAC and ensure a consistently high level of execution excellence across all channels and geographies.
7. Oversee the monitoring, analysis and response to press coverage and social media interactions across multiple channels like FB, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn - with a strict, time-bound execution plan - and communicate results accurately via reporting and analytics.
8. Manage, evaluate and ensure integrity of communications between the company and various stakeholders, and uphold the Corporate guidelines at all times.
9. Develop and establish new relationships with key media houses and journalists to provide better public relations, and be involved with and contribute to all efforts towards developing better Analyst Relations.
10. Handle all media activities to increase exposure including responding to media queries promptly, monitoring the media, researching opportunities, distributing and following up on any proactive outreach to targeted media, drafting advertorials, and designing outreach programs through rich content and new branding ideas.
11. Monitor and track all communication activities and efforts to measure success and effectiveness, and to ensure right targets.
GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS :
1. Has experienced an advertising/agency work-life and has some hands-on knowledge and experience with media relations and PR agencies.
2. Has a creative/aesthetic sense of design, and worked with creative designers.
3. Excellent storytelling skills and a balanced EQ.
4. Ability to think on the toes and maintain calm under pressure when leading a diverse team.
5. Resilient and a good track record for good judgement.
