Job Purpose
- Efficiently deliver projects and run them to key project delivery parameters, including achievement of planned benefits, individually and through direct reports.
- Define, maintain and evolve the Program Office (Portfolio reporting) ways of working and implement governance (monitor, report and control) for identified portfolios
Principle Accountabilities
1. Project Delivery
- Plan, Execute and deliver goals for any assigned projects to ensure benefits are realized as planned
- Ensure that projects follow - Standard Operating Procedures- and to drive a standard, efficient and effective project management culture
- Manage stakeholders at project and portfolio levels to maintain a high level of confidence and client satisfaction
2. Governance
- Setup, evolve and implement the Governance framework for in-scope portfolios, to enable timely and informed management interventions and decision making
- Monitor financial Benefit realization across all projects and portfolios and trigger direct or indirect intervention where significant deviations from planned benefits occur
3. People Management
- Identify, plan and facilitate capability development for all team members
- Conduct team 1-1 meetings and feedback and periodic appraisals
- Ensure adherence to People Management Policies
4. Service Capability
- Promote Group BPM services and brand to drive additional business
- Develop new products and services
- Demonstrate thought leadership through articles, white papers
The Program Office enables the company to achieve this vision through change management, governance and support for all strategic initiatives.
The role is resident with the Management Services Group of the organization and requires the incumbent to work closely with Operating Companies where projects have been assigned. The incumbent is responsible to enable and execute change initiatives through effective governance.
Framework & Boundaries
- Work is dependent on projects that are allocated to the team from time to time
- Authority as delegated by sponsor of the project with respect to cost, time, scope
- Delivery as per agreed and defined operating standards
Relationships
- Directly manage and develop team members reporting into the role (These will be Business Analysts, Assistant Project Managers, project Managers and Project Support officers)
- Mentor, lead and manage for the duration of their project roles team members in a Project Superiors
- Day to day interactions for escalations and decision-making where required
- Weekly updates with reporting manager and hierarchy on project updates
Within the company:
Frequent interaction with stakeholders from operating companies
Outside the company:
Vendors for programs, experts in the field of programme and change management.

Experience Essential: 7 - 9 years of experience in consulting / programme management. Project size of spends in excess of 100,000 pounds. implementation experience
Desirable: Multi - geography, multi - divisional projects
Knowledge Essential: Project Management principles, some knowledge of insurance, latest project management practices, industry trends, future growth prospects in the domain
