One of our leading Banking clients in Hyderabad is looking for Sr. Manager role who has strong work experience in GL Reconciliation.
Designation : Sr. Manager (Supervisory)
Qualification : CA / CPA/CMA
Location : Hyderabad
- Experience Range 7 -10 years of experience in finance, accounting, Reconciliations /or operations.
Mandatory skills:
- Strong understanding of the reconciliation process and an aptitude for technical and project work.
- Strong Accounting Standards Knowledge
- Strong organization and People management skills.
Desired skills:
- Desired Exposure to International Accounting & Reporting Standards (US GAAP- s, FAS, IFRS)
- Able to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
Work Timings: 2PM to 11 PM
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities of the incumbent in the role :
- Be responsible for the overall smooth functioning of the GIRC process and deliverables through the various reconciliation verticals and teams.
Relationship management : Maintain effective business partner relationships with all stakeholders - internal and external.
- Review current infrastructure for the GL account reconciliations process and reporting of GL balances and outstanding items in a timely and accurate manner and suggest / initiate enhancements.
- Create infrastructure for constant monitoring of the accounts to ensure that the transactions adhere to the account usage requirements, identify gaps and work with business partners to fix them.
- Review and enhance QA methodology.
- Create infrastructure for constant dissemination and review of open items based on thresholds and work with business partners, LOB Controllers, business units to resolve .
- Set up and operate a governance mechanism to ensure high rate of compliance for accounts reconciled under the teams ownership.
- Advising, monitoring and/or assisting reconciling units on issue resolution.
- Identifying the underlying risk in relation with accounting GAAPs, regulatory reporting and SOX requirements.
- Assessing SOX controls in reconciliation process.
- Monitoring and evaluating risk related to reconciliation activity in conjunction with GRG.
- Taking necessary measures to ensure that action plans are developed to address compliance gaps and executed on a timely basis.
- Ensuring completion of the required GRG training for employees engaged in the reconciliation process
- Escalating and reporting key issues and status for review.
- Conduct Periodic Performance Appraisals and Associate development plans.
- Be a Subject matter expert and a go to person for the team within GIRC for all process related matters.
- Keep close tab on end to end deliverables of the GIRC team - set up appropriate tools / metrics for the purpose.
- Ensure that the QA assessments are done and completed as required.
- Escalate as required to the Lines of Business / business partners or internal line management any issues that could constitute breach of recons policy / procedures within the account groups.
