Job Title: Senior Manager-Freight Projects

Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Manager, Logistics Projects will lead and manage logistics-related cost-saving initiatives and programs. This role directly impacts the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of logistics operations, ensuring optimized resource allocation and improved profitability. This job is essential to continuously drive cost reduction efforts within the logistics function, supporting the overall business strategy and enhancing the companys competitive edge in the market.
Major Responsibilities:
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and projects by analyzing current logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic solutions to achieve measurable cost reductions in logistics operations. (30% of Annual time)
- Monitor performance of ongoing logistics projects by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and conducting regular reviews to ensure projects are on track and meeting cost-saving goals. (25% of Annual time)
- Analyze logistics data by collecting and examining operational and cost data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. (10% of Annual time)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations) by conducting regular meetings and sharing insights to align cost-saving initiatives with broader organizational objectives. (15% of Annual time)
- Develop detailed reports and presentations by compiling data on logistics costs, savings, and process improvements to present to senior management for decision-making. (10% of Annual time)
- Identify opportunities for further cost optimization by staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve logistics efficiency. (5% of Annual time)
- Analyze gaps in existing logistics processes by conducting gap analysis and comparing current performance with industry standards to propose solutions for closing those gaps. (5% of Annual time)
- Train team members and stakeholders by developing and conducting training sessions on cost-saving strategies and project management techniques to build internal capabilities for ongoing improvements. (10% of Annual time)
- These responsibilities, when executed effectively, will contribute to driving significant cost reductions, improving logistics processes, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
-12 to 15 years of overall experience.
- Experience should include some cross functional exposure such as manufacturing, sales planning, and forecasting, logistics, commercial etc.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: BE/ MBA [from Premier Institute]
