Job Description: Strategic Finance
Provide strategic financial advice to the leadership team; provide specialist professional and technical expertise in the interpretation and application of finance, business related activities. Support and influence financial planning, management and decision making and ensure that the team meets all financial obligations and demonstrate financial probity.
Core Accountabilities:
- Elevate the company's FP&A Value Proposition: Identify opportunities within the FP&A team deliverables to move up the value chain and enhance strategic value of the FP&A organization by bringing in fresh insights, outside-in view of the market, developing robust business analysis etc.
- Strategic Initiatives: Partner with functions in driving certain key initiatives/projects that support the company's objectives. Enabling early engagement with opportunities, formulation of proposals, business pitch decks to drive business growth.
- Run Grow and Transform (RGT): Formulate RGT framework and drive the project with business partners both locally and globally to build up the methodology and drive the execution of producing it on a periodic basis
- Acqui-hiring: Drive the designing framework for acqui-hiring and bring out finer nuances to discuss with leadership team
- Location Strategy: Provide support in partnering with functions/business and formulating business case for location strategy
- Future of Finance Technology: Enterprise-wide understanding of finance and business processes along with systems and demonstrated success in delivering innovative solutions for Finance organizations
- Draw insights from vendor presentations on the 'Future of Finance' RFP and incorporate best practices to elevate the digital quotient of the finance function.
- Execute the identified transformation agenda coming out of the RFP for finance team
- Contribute towards the global ongoing Hyperion implementation project and partner with Business Excellence team on the organization wide Data Lake project
- Identify growth opportunities and enable business growth: Develop relationships within. Partner with the leaders and engage with DBTS/ Corporate & Business Units to discover & leverage organic growth opportunities for the newly established Strategic Finance capability
- Executive Management Reporting: Own the ideation and development of multiple standard and adhoc materials for insightful and engaging executive presentations for various matters. e.g. business partner visits, townhalls, QBRs etc.
- Digital Business Technology Solutions (DBTS) Finance: Review and supervise the day-to-day activities, mentoring & coaching, of a 2 member DBTS team supporting Canada Finance. This is in addition to being an individual contributor towards India Finance matters
Qualifications/Skills for strategic finance:
- Strong interpersonal skills, executive relationship management skills, and team leadership skills, including the ability to work both individually and collaboratively across all employee levels, LOBs and geographic areas
- Exceptional presentation skills evidenced by the ability to present large volumes of data in a concise and easy to understand manner
- Proven leader in strategy and planning / implementing process design and change management programs across large enterprises
- 12 years of post-qualification (CA/MBA) with experience in middle management roles and experience of working with C-suite
- Experience in both strategy/consulting and FP&A preferably in a Global Inhouse Centre (GIC)
- Fluent in technology advances - must have a finger on the pulse of digital advances, market/industry insights
