Senior Manager - Environment/Health/Safety & Sustainability

Job Purpose:

The role will support the Bangalore Site EHSS Lead in planning and strategy development, management and control of the strategic EHSS portfolio, This person will also play a key role in key strategic EHSS project portfolio management that are aligned to the vision and strategic pillars of the business.

Educational Qualification:

- Graduate Engineer/MTech or M.Sc in Chemistry background from recognised University preferably . Preferred with Diploma in Industrial safety from State Board, RLI, CLI.

- Experience in a global business environment preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 10+ years' in similar role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Will assist, Site Lead EHSS for all activities of EHSS.

2. Will assist, Site Lead EHSS for Kavach programme to achieve visible safety culture (operational discipline and sustainable safety) .

3. Ensure all relevant legal and corporate information is kept and is available for use as required, maintaining foresight for both legislative and corporate initiatives

4. Ensure all reporting is completed for legal requirements.

5. Identify the Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy for COMPANY operations across all locations and develop/ improve systems and activities to ensure that all operations comply with regulatory requirements and corporate EHSS policies and commitments

6. Understand, evaluate and implement clients EHSS management system and process and allow to COMPANY to leverage the same

7. Promote and champion key initiatives to improve EHSS performance within Company BU verticals in support of the Company corporate targets.

8. Advise all Company leadership team on aspects of EHSS management to help them carry out their accountabilities for EHSS.

9. Provide reactive EHSS support to the Site/ all BU leadership , in particular providing/supporting incident management and incident investigation, Emergency management and Business continuity management.

10. Manage EHSS change plan and other continuous improvement activities to ensure EHSS projects are delivered effectively.

Critical experience:

1. Process safety and administrative safety management in Chemical/Pharmaceutical/Bio Technology / Biologics manufacturing industry at least 10 years (development, implementation and maintenance)

2. Occupational Hygiene and Health Management in Pharmaceutical/Bio pharmaceutical/Chemical industries 10 years.

3. Developing implementing EMS for at least 10 years.

4. Safety Officer in Chemical and Pharmaceutical for at least 10 years. Handling large research laboratories in the areas of Chemical and Biology/Biologics is added advantage.

5. Developing and Implementing the Industrial Hygiene Programs for at least 10 years.

6. Emergency management System ( Operational/tactical/ Strategic) - 10 years

7. Knowledge of EHSS regulations and practice at least 10 years

8. Experience in implementing safety programs in chemical/Biologics l manufacturing environments

9. IT literate, with the ability to use the full Microsoft Office package

10. Knowledge of current Health and Safety practice within the CRO/Bio-pharma sector.
