Senior Engineering Manager

Duties and responsibilities :

- Help build and lead great development teams to deliver world-class products.

- Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement

- Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.

- Works with tech leads and senior engineers to gather system requirements, gut check new feature proposals and large system improvements.

- Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.

- Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives.

- Initiate cross functional collaboration with DevOps, Product and Design to develop high quality, polished products.

- Be an evangelist for technology & represent Practo in external forums.

What We Are Looking For :

- 8+ years of professional experience architecting, developing, and launching software products on web or mobile.

- 4+ years of experience managing successful engineering teams including hiring/termination and performance management.

- Ability to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly, and provide longer term vision and motivation.

- Strong technical background with track record of individual technical accomplishments

- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams.

- Agile management experience, primarily Scrum.

Qualifications and Experience :

B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science (who are from NIIT/ IIT) with 7 to 10 years of experience.
