Domnic Lewis has been mandate to hire Procurement/Material Management- Manager/Senior Manager for Chennai Location





Purpose:

To ensure the smooth delivery of products to customers in support of business objectives and requirements.

Responsibilities:

Oversee raw material and packaging sourcing activities.

Ensure competitive sourcing of raw materials and packaging, focusing on cost reduction or minimizing price increases.

Plan raw materials for sales orders, forecast orders, non-forecasted orders, and new wins.

Monitor re-order levels and safety stock levels, taking appropriate action as needed.

Handle purchase requests for sales orders, forecast/non-forecast orders, and new wins.

Buy at the lowest price while maintaining desired quality.

Coordinate with order management, production, and warehouse teams to meet service delivery requirements.

Order raw materials based on MRP requirements and forecast planning.

Plan and order materials for the global stock point cycle.

Coordinate with suppliers for timely dispatch and document management for imports.

Work with warehouse and logistics teams for the timely clearance of raw materials.

Order locally sourced raw materials to ensure timely arrival and avoid excess inventory.

Monitor and order packaging materials.

Ensure timely availability of raw materials for production by coordinating with the warehouse.

Manage group purchases and maintain good supplier relationships to ensure a steady flow of ideas, products, better prices, and services.

Maintain supply continuity and prevent material flow interruptions.

Achieve high inventory turnover by reducing excess storage, carrying costs, and losses due to deterioration and obsolescence.

Maintain specified material quality levels and consistency for efficient operations.

Minimize acquisition costs by improving operational efficiency and procedures.

Analyze supplier supply chains and inputs to enable aggressive negotiations and anticipation of future price changes.

Collaborate with other supply chain departments, RA, and R&D to enhance the material management process, increasing operational efficiency, inventory turnover, and reducing obsolete materials.

Review and improve vendor development and evaluation programs.

Qualifications:

Senior Manager:

Minimum 14-18 years of experience in the Flavors & Fragrances industry, FMCG, or related industry within a procurement function.

Solid experience in sourcing, supply chain, or supplier management, with excellent knowledge of procurement best practices.

Master's degree in supply chain, operations, or a relevant discipline from a reputable institute.

Team management or development experience, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Manager:

Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in operations, engineering, or supply chain, with 8-10 years of experience. Chemical background is a plus.

Senior Executive:

Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in operations, engineering, or supply chain, with 5-8 years of experience. Chemical background is a plus.

Job Requirements:

Comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven, results-oriented attitude, and a strong bias for customer service.

Strong teamwork, customer orientation, and effective time management skills.

Strong knowledge of the market, economy, and business practices, with expertise in direct sourcing of raw materials and a good supplier network.

Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively under pressure.

Experience in the flavor, ingredient, or fragrance industry preferred.

Proficiency with Office 365, procurement tools, and sourcing tools.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Strong negotiation skills.
