Position Title Senior Manager / DGM - Talent Acquisition
Location Kharagpur (2.5 hrs from Kolkata)
Reporting to CHRO/GM HR
Team Size 5 to 7 people
Nature of Work Monday to Saturday, regular work from the Kharagpur office
Job Purpose:
The Talent Acquisition Manager will partner closely with the business's leadership team members to fully understand business challenges, and recruiting specifications, and develop an appropriate recruiting strategy.
The role involves driving the full recruitment cycle, defining and implementing a recruiting strategy aligned with organisational priorities, and ensuring systematic, ethical, and consistent hiring policies and practices.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Define, develop, and drive a strategy to meet recruiting demand aligned with organisational priorities.
- Act as a Talent Adviser to the business, devising hiring strategies based on hiring demands, location mapping, and data analysis.
Recruitment Cycle Management:
- Accountable for the delivery of the Recruiting Plan.
- Work closely with CV sourcing and pipeline movement, managing the full recruitment cycle.
Sourcing and Candidate Pipeline:
- Utilise conventional and new sourcing channels such as social media, skill-specific websites, professional and social networking sites/groups, search engines, and possible forums.
- Conduct resume mining and research for positions.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with business leaders (hiring managers & skip levels) to set expectations based on pool availability versus requirement.
- Provide market insights, close mandates, and build pipelines through various sources for current and future requirements.
Internal Mobility and Diversity Recruitment:
- Drive internal mobility, employee referrals, campus hiring, and diversity recruiting strategies.
Project and Program Management:
- Lead strategic projects/programs such as Employer Branding, recruitment methodology enhancement, candidate experience improvement, quality of hire initiatives, and technology/automation-led initiatives.
Team Management and Development:
- Set goals and objectives to monitor performance.
- Ensure the growth of team members' functional and behavioural competencies.
- Provide constructive feedback to team members to develop and maximise their potential.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Functional Competencies:
- Experience in Talent Acquisition needs and challenges in the Steel, Power or Cement industry.
- Ability to model, influence, and manage a team to maintain rigour in processes, compliance, and operational expertise.
- Excellent communication and articulation skills.
- Team management, stakeholder management, business partnering, and interpersonal skills.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Self-driven, results-oriented, proactive, and an initiative-taker.
- Willingness to adopt a hands-on approach when needed.
- Superior attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the big picture.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Master's degree preferred, in business (MBA) with a Specialisation in HR.
- 10-15 years of Talent Acquisition experience in a reputed organisation.
