Senior Manager / DGM - HR Operations
Assignment Brief :
Position Title : Senior Manager / DGM - HR Operations.
Location - Kharagpur (2.5 hrs from Kolkata).
Reporting to : CHRO/GM HR.
Team Size : 5 to 7 people.
Nature of Work : Monday to Saturday, regular work from the Kharagpur office.
Job Purpose :
To manage the comprehensive HR Operations, ensuring efficient handling of the entire Employee Life Cycle from hiring to retirement.
This role involves overseeing statutory compliance, HR policies implementation, employee database management, performance management, and HR analytics to support organisational objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Employee Life Cycle Management.
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes from hire to retire.
- Conduct pre-hire checks including Safe hire and rehire evaluations before joining.
- Maintain employee personal files and manage the employee database.
- Oversee performance management processes.
- Compliance and Audits.
- Ensure all statutory and labour-related compliance within required timelines.
- Manage HR audits, background verification, and reference checks.
- Track police verification certificates for all new employees and publish fortnightly reports.
- HR Policies and Administration.
- Design and implement HR policies.
- Manage leave and attendance.
- Create and distribute employee ID cards.
Consultant and Vendor Management :
- Oversee the lifecycle and payment processing of consultants and retainers.
- Manage vendor relations and payments.
- HR Analytics and Reporting
- Prepare HR metrics including headcount reports, attrition reports, exit analysis, and organisational structure updates.
- Handle HR analytics and reporting, ensuring accurate monthly dashboards.
- HR Process Automation
- Drive HR automation initiatives, including UAT and implementation.
- Employee Benefits and Engagement
- Administer employee benefits.
- Coordinate with Regional HR, Government officials, and multiple stakeholders for timely issue resolution.
Statutory Compliance :
- Oversee compliance with PF, ESIC, Shops & Establishment, Contract Labour, POSH, etc.
- Manage NAPS registration, onboarding, claims, and reimbursements.
- Communication and Coordination
- Generate necessary letters (appointment, termination, contract).
- Provision headcount reports.
- Coordinate effectively with Regional HR and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Competencies :
- Team leadership experience with the ability to manage large teams of a minimum of 8 members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent persuasive communication skills.
- Goal-oriented with the capacity to inspire and influence teams.
- Front-ending experience to manage customer expectations and network effectively.
- Advanced report writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Marathi and awareness of cultural nuances is preferable.
Qualifications and Work Experience :
- MBA/Post Graduate with a specialisation in HR.
- 10+ years of experience in HR Operations.
- Proven ability to manage blue-collar workers.
- Proficiency in Hindi and awareness of cultural nuances will be an added advantage.
