About the Role:
- As a Senior Credit Risk Manager, you will be responsible for managing credit risk policies and processes for personal loans within the consumer retail portfolio across India.
- You will oversee the development and implementation of product programs, drive asset quality reviews, and ensure adherence to credit policies.
- Your role will involve close collaboration with various teams to enhance credit risk management and ensure proactive adaptation to changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy and Process Management:
- Develop, manage, and oversee credit risk policies and processes for personal loans in the consumer retail portfolio.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date and align with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
Product Program Implementation:
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of new and existing product programs.
- Work closely with product managers to ensure that credit risk policies are integrated into product offerings.
Asset Quality Reviews:
- Facilitate regular asset quality reviews to assess portfolio performance.
- Provide analytical insights to identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
Policy Review and Adaptation:
- Regularly review and update credit policies and risk acceptance criteria.
- Adapt policies to reflect changes in regulations, business strategies, market conditions, and portfolio performance.
Portfolio Management:
- Drive portfolio management initiatives through the credit cycle management framework.
- Collaborate with product managers, credit systems, credit operations, and collections teams to manage and optimize credit risk.
Credit Systems Implementation:
- Partner with the credit systems support team to implement key credit policy criteria in relevant credit acceptance and evaluation systems.
- Ensure systems are aligned with current policies and risk criteria.
Risk Escalation:
- Identify and escalate significant risk issues to business management in a timely manner.
- Recommend and support the implementation of remedial actions to mitigate identified risks.
Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs):
- Ensure timely completion of RCSAs, including developing and executing action plans to address identified control gaps.
- Follow up on issues and action plans arising from RCSAs, risk events, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and regulatory inspections.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
- Address any risk and control issues identified through various assessments and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g, CFA, FRM) preferred.
- Extensive experience in credit risk management, particularly with personal loans and consumer retail portfolios.
- Strong understanding of credit risk policies, portfolio management, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify risks, and develop strategic recommendations.
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with credit systems and implementation of risk criteria is advantageous
