Opening in a leading UK Based organisation in retail in Bangalore :
Operations - Develop and lead a team of cost managers to deliver the below scope
- Capital Spend in the property development lifecycle of Acquire / Design / Build / Maintain and Dispose
- Develop cost plans for existing and new space.
- Simplify the input process to ensure all relevant risks associated in developing existing and new space is identified.
- Risks and associate works to be costed.
- Clear understanding of Construction methodology to develop cost plans.
- Drive Integration of Retail & Engineering for optimum design and optimum spend.
- Knowledge of offsite & onsite works, - skill cost- to develop optimum cost plan.
- Value engineering / alternate materials / alternate development methods to develop optimum cost plan.
- Use of historic and current data to develop accurate cost database.
- Using the Cost database to drive thumb rule / high level cost to drive strategic decisions prior to detailing.
- Constantly up skill on changing practices in property development and costs associated with the same.
People :
- Establish effective communication channels to engage within and across teams; Celebrate success, gather ideas and keep the team updated on new directions, key changes, policies and procedures through regular one-on-ones, team meetings, training and coaching sessions
- Accountable for talent retention within the team/s; Proactively manage colleagues- expectations and work towards attaining a win-win situation for both, the organization and colleagues
- Enhance capability within the team; Identify, mentor and develop team members with high potential, providing them with opportunities to display and further develop their strengths
- Accountable for identification of Training & Development needs of team members and providing suitable training programs to meet their career aspirations and organization goals; Set stretch goals and monitor progress to enable team members to enhance their capability
- Undertake all people related activities such as recruitment, performance management, talent planning, leave & attendance and rewards & recognition in an effective and timely manner
- Hire the right skills and experience at the right cost into the organization and ensure that there is a strong talent pipeline with right colleagues in the right job
- Ensure high levels of engagement and motivation levels within the team that reflect in the periodic employee engagement (What Matters) survey scores

Finance :
- Drive cost savings and ensure adherence to the function's budget
- Drive innovation/ process improvement leading to monetary and non-monetary savings
- Monitor spend and ensure adherence to the team's budget
- Oversee adherence to approved hiring budgets for the team
- Oversee the delivery of KPIs with the agreed headcount; Ensure and enable optimal use of resources to deliver more with less
Customer :
- Engage with stakeholders and cross-functional teams on a regular basis to review ways of working and gain their inputs on delivery; Oversee and ensure that day to day operational issues/queries are resolved in a timely & effective manner
