Senior Manager - Corporate EHS & Safety - FMCG

We are currently looking for a Sr Manager- EHS & Safety for one of the topmost packaged consumer goods Conglomerate in India. The position is to be based at Kolkata.

Purpose of the job

To support the company implement and maintain Health & Safety management system, serve as domain expert on safety systems/standards and creation of safety culture.

Role & Responsibility:

- Identify and develop specific Environment Health & Safety, (EHS) guidelines relevant for Company's businesses

- Conducting environment health and safety audits and prepare reports for management.

- Ability to identify key gap areas on technical and management aspects necessary to achieve zero accident status.

- Develop and execute appropriate interventions for all categories of employees to address above gap areas and.

- Develop and conduct specialized training to address the identified gaps in the safety system

- Develop appropriate lead indicators to monitor the effectiveness of interventions to achieve desired outcomes.

- Advise Division/Unit heads and other senior managers on safety and needed actions to achieve goals with respect to EHS.

- Carry out methodical and scientific accident investigations to identify root causes and initiate appropriate management action.

Educational Qualification (mention Institution):

- Graduate - B-Tech in any engineering (preferably electrical, mechanical, chemical) from reputed engineering college or

- Postgraduate - Degree or Diploma in Industrial safety from reputed institutes such as NITIE/ NIT, Tiruchirappalli.

Competencies & Skills:

- Strong communication skills, both written as well as spoken English. Ability to speak effectively in Hindi essential.

- Should have good leadership skills and must be able to spearhead the science-based approach to safety engineering and safety culture across the organization.

- Should be a good learner and willing to innovate and accept new ideas

- Should have a personal drive and passion for Safety

Previous Experience:

- 10-15 years of experience in environment, health, and safety. Preferably a blend of industrial shop floor experience as well as Corporate/ consultancy role.

- Experience in conducting & training on risk assessment, developing safe work procedures, job observation, safety culture, internal audits, root cause analysis etc.

Job Location : Kolkata
